About Nankana Sahib Ji:
Nankana Sahib is a city where Guru Nanak Dev Ji born and grown up. At that place is now a big Gurdwara Janam Asthaan named after Guru Nanak. This is birth place of Sikh religion where the first Guru started preaching. Nankana Sahib was part of Sheikhupura but since 2005 it is an independent district. The Sikh yatrees across the world come every year here to perform Gurpurab yatra in the month of November. This small place in those days was known as Rai-Bhoi-Di-Talwandi. It was named after Rai Bhoi but his great grandson Rai Bular Bhatti renamed it as Nankana Sahib. After seeing some miracles he realized that Nanak is not an ordinary person and gave half of his property in the name of Guru Nanak. He owned 1500 Murabba that is equal to 37500 hectare and 750 Murabba lands he donated to first Guru. This land is still belongs to the Gurdwara. This place is now one of the major source of spreading the message of love and peace around the world.
